A performer was briefly engulfed in flames during a live fire dance at a zoo in China, causing concern among spectators.

The incident occurred at Nantong Forest Safari Park last Wednesday during a cultural performance. The dancer, dressed in red, had just begun her routine,  a fire dance rooted in ancient Chinese tradition, when it went wrong.

According to footage shared by Shanghai Daily, the performer was expected to dance between two flaming hoops. However, shortly after she started, the fire spread and caught her dress.
