Chelsea Football Club have sacked head coach Enzo Maresca after a disappointing run of results in the Premier League. The decision comes following a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, leaving the Blues with just one win in their last seven league games.
In a statement, the club said:
“Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company. During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions.”

The statement added:
“With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track. We wish Enzo well for the future.”
Maresca, 48, had expressed frustration in December, describing the 48 hours before Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton as “the worst since I joined the club, because many people didn’t support us.” He later clarified the comments were “in general.”
Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, and face Manchester City away on Sunday before traveling to Fulham.
