ChatGPT features Spotify wrapped-style year-end review

OpenAI is bringing the year-end recap trend to AI with Your Year with ChatGPT, a Spotify Wrapped-style feature that lets users see a personalized summary of their interactions with the chatbot.

The feature is available for web and mobile users in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It highlights top queries, trends, and popular topics from a user’s activity. Users can earn badges, like the “inventor” award, and discover which archetype best fits their ChatGPT use.

The recap also generates a custom AI image based on the user’s interests. To access the feature, users must have chat history and saved memories turned on and meet a minimum usage threshold. It is not available for Team, Enterprise, or Education accounts.

OpenAI joins other tech companies offering year-end recaps, including Spotify, YouTube, Google, Apple, and PlayStation, a trend that encourages users to share results on social media or create humorous parodies.

The rollout comes after a busy year for OpenAI, which released GPT-5 and the open-weight local model GPT-OSS, while securing major infrastructure deals with Oracle, Nvidia, and AMD. The company’s valuation now stands at $830 billion, following its shift to a privately held structure, a move seen as preparation for a potential IPO.

Competition in AI continues to heat up, with Google’s Gemini 3 and other rivals challenging OpenAI’s dominance, while investors monitor the company’s spending amid concerns over a potential AI bubble.
