Celine Dion to make concert comeback in Paris amid health battle

Celine Dion is set for a possible return to the concert stage in Paris later this year as she continues to battle serious health challenges.

Reports by Variety and La Presse say the singer is planning a run of shows at the Paris La Défense Arena, with performances expected twice a week in September and October.

The reported comeback follows years away from full concerts after Dion cancelled her Courage World Tour due to health issues. In 2022, she revealed she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare condition that affects muscle control and her ability to perform.

She has since made only a few public appearances, including a performance of Hymne à l’amour by Édith Piaf at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

In her 2024 documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, the singer described how the illness affected her voice during performances.

“Sometimes I would point my microphone towards the audience and I would make them sing it. There’s moments where I cheated and I tapped on the microphone, like it was the microphone’s fault,” she said.

Despite the condition, Dion made clear she is determined to return.

“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl, but I won’t stop.”

Neither Dion’s representatives nor the venue have confirmed the planned concerts.
