Authorities in Benin Republic have arrested about 13 soldiers linked to the country’s recent failed coup attempt, according to security and military sources who spoke with AFP on Sunday.
The detainees, mostly active-duty soldiers, plus one former military officer , are suspected of involvement in the plot. Officials said the arrests came just hours after the group attempted to overthrow the government, sparking unrest in parts of Cotonou and prompting stepped-up military patrols.
