In the state’s Igabi Local Government Area, the Maraban-Jos and Rigachikun communities, two young women who were allegedly bandit girlfriends and informants were apprehended, according to the Kaduna State Police Command.
Men from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS) working in the neighbourhoods apprehended the suspects, identified as Hafsat Ibrahim and Rabi Bala, and handed them over to the state police command for further investigation. Another informant, Bayero Adamu, was also detained during the arrests.

All of the accused have confessed to the crime, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Jalige, stated in confirming the arrest.
He claimed that the two teenage girls who were the bandit’s girlfriends also assisted the culprits in moving their weapons.
“The male suspect has also confessed to having participated, along with other gang members, in carrying out operations along the Kaduna-Zaria highway and neighbouring communities, but investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO said.
