Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, is currently watching Marvel Studios “Black Panther” film at Silverbird, Jabi Mall, Abuja.
The much-anticipated film which has an almost entirely black cast and a young African-American director, Ryan Coogler, has already won rave reviews for its stereotype-busting portrayal of Africa.
Atiku who stormed Silverbird to watch the film got there almost an hour ago. The former Vice President, seeing how excited other viewers were, paid for the tickets of everybody who had come to watch the film, a Twitter user has claimed.
According to the Twitter user with handle, @ClintonViceB, “So @atiku came to the movies Today and bought Tickets for everybody. Commendable.” Meanwhile, Atiku’s presence at Silverbird to watch the film has sparked debate on Twitter with many describing the Former VP’s appearance at the cinema as an act that shows he is a man of the people.
According to a Twitter user, @favourdesimhi, “This is no surprise to me for I know him to be a kind-hearted man. He will make a better president in 2019.” Another user, @Frankkyboi, said its because of an election. But @GabrielEtenika maintained “It’s not about elections, doing good is part of him.”
