Atalanta have appointed Raffaele Palladino as their new head coach after sacking Ivan Juric following a 3-0 home loss to Sassuolo. The club has not won in seven Serie A matches and sits 13th in the table.
Palladino, 41, returns to management six months after leaving Fiorentina by mutual consent. “I am honoured to take on this challenge at Atalanta,” he said in a statement released by the club.
He began his coaching career with Monza, leading them to 11th and 12th place finishes in Serie A, before joining Fiorentina in June 2024. In his only season there, Palladino guided the team to sixth place, securing Conference League qualification, their best league finish since 2015-16. He left Fiorentina in May, just weeks after signing a contract extension.
Across 108 Serie A matches, Palladino has won 44 games, drawn 29, and lost 35, giving him a 40.7% win rate. His first test with Atalanta will be an away match against Serie A champions Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on November 22.
