Anu Adeleke has publicly asked singer Davido to undergo a DNA test to establish paternity, putting an end to years of speculation about her father.
The young teen, whose mother has long insisted that Davido is her biological father, revealed that she has faced bullying and ridicule from her peers whenever she mentioned her father’s identity.
In an Instagram post shared on January 15, Anu wrote directly to Davido, requesting that he submit himself for a DNA test to confirm their relationship. She explained that her request comes from a personal desire to know her identity as she grows older.
“I am a bit late into the 15th day of the month but I’ve been busy getting back to school after the holidays,” Anu wrote. “This year I become a teenager. My mom and grandma have always guided me on being a responsible teen, no drugs, alcohol, bad company, or bad behaviour.
Today, I drafted a letter from the depth of my heart without help from anyone. I want to establish my identity. I was bullied at school since I was six, cried daily, and was laughed at whenever I told classmates that my father was Mr David Adeleke. I went through a lot of mental anguish and even visited a medical professional for my mental health.”
Anu continued, “Despite the challenges, I excelled in school, became class prefect, and posted some of my report cards online. Now, as I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke, Singer @davido, for a DNA test. This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want and the right thing to do. Please, sir, consider my request.”
She thanked Nigerians who have supported her over the years, stressing that the DNA test is important for her personal identity and peace of mind.
