Michael Eneramo, a former Super Eagles striker, has died at the age of 40 after reportedly collapsing during a football match in Kaduna State.
The former Nigeria international was said to have slumped while taking part in a routine kickabout in the Ungwan Yelwa area of Kaduna. Eyewitnesses said he suddenly collapsed shortly after the start of the second half of the game, despite showing no visible signs of distress earlier.
He was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was later confirmed dead at the hospital.
Eneramo, who retired from professional football in 2018, remained active in local football activities and was also involved in grassroots development through a football academy.

During his playing career, he featured for several clubs across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, including Espérance de Tunis, Beşiktaş, Sivasspor, İstanbul Başakşehir, and Lobi Stars.
He earned caps for the Super Eagles between 2009 and 2011.
Tributes have continued to pour in from the football community, with former teammates and clubs describing him as a powerful striker and influential figure during his playing days.
