A video circulating online has sparked controversy after a mother advised her adult son to get married despite his financial struggles.
In the clip, the Yoruba mother insists her son is old enough to settle down and bring home a wife.
The son disagrees, saying he is not financially stable and wants to be more prepared before marriage.
But the mother dismisses his concerns, urging him to marry anyway and trust that things will work out in time.
She suggests that money should not delay marriage, adding that provision will come eventually.
The video has since triggered mixed reactions on social media.

Another said: “Faith no be substitute for planning. Love and marriage need more than ‘God will provide’ you still gats get small stability first. Pressure no suppose push person into responsibility wey dem never ready for. “
Some users, however, believe marriage can encourage responsibility.
“If you are not lazy, getting married will help you make more money. You will be forced to work harder because you now have responsibilities,” one user shared.
Another added: “Getting married with proper plan and funds made me loose bad friends, bad company, work harder, think twice before making decisions”
Reactions continue as users debate whether financial stability should come before marriage or grow alongside it.
