Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has cautioned men against fathering children without financial readiness, citing the rising cost of living in Nigeria
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the actor highlighted the growing expenses associated with raising a child, pointing to essentials such as diapers, school fees, fuel, and other daily commodities.

Speaking in a blunt tone, Agu warned that ignoring current economic realities could lead to severe financial strain for unprepared parents.
“Pampers prices are increasing, school fees are rising, fuel prices are increasing, and even the cost of commodities keeps going up, yet you have nothing, and you’re still getting a woman pregnant, you’ll definitely cry more than that baby,” he said.
He further stressed that men without stable income or proper planning risk facing overwhelming responsibilities when the demands of childcare begin to set in.
