Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North, has reacted to the domestic violence allegations made against him by his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
In a viral video shared on Saturday, the actress claimed that the lawmaker assaulted her and that she could no longer endure the abuse in their marriage.
Regina Daniels, who married Mr Nwoko in 2019 as his sixth wife, shares two children with him.
Responding in a statement posted on his X account on Sunday, the 64-year-old described her behaviour in the viral clip as an act of “unprovoked carnage and rampage.”
Mr Nwoko said his wife’s recent actions were not consistent with her usual self, linking the situation to substance abuse.
He wrote, “Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs. I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence.

“Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting three staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, especially Jordan, where she will not have access to drugs.”
The senator also alleged that Daniels threatened to harm their resident nurse after the nurse exposed her drug abuse.
He added, “A clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital, but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse (for exposing her drug abuse).
“While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann.”
Mr Nwoko further alleged that Sammy West, who identifies as Regina’s brother, was actually her drug supplier.
Sammy West, however, had accused the lawmaker of physically assaulting the actress and sending thugs to harass her family , a claim Mr Nwoko firmly denied.
