Following the video release of the Senate President, Chief Goodswill Akpabio, on the statement he retracted before the adjournment of the senate ministerial screening.

He said, “In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the clerk of the national assembly.”

Being alerted he was still live, he withdrew the statement and said he meant to say prayers will be sent to their mailbox instead. This has caused many Nigerians reacting.

Some are saying it is one of their many tactics to loot money. Others say it is irresponsible of the government to share money to senators when the country has become so economically choking and living standards unbearable; they label it ‘renewed shege’

Sarcastically, some also said the prayers should reach every Nigerians mailbox. In fact, some have started messing around that the new code in town is “send prayers to my mailbox”.

Catch more reaction here:

New code in town;

Send prayers to your mailbox.

This man without doubt may be the worst senate president. He talks so careless not minding the media and the seat he is occupying. They are sending prayers in mail boxes😂Nigerians will survive this difficult times.

Ehhhhhhhhh ehhhhhhh ehhhhhhh. . . This Nigeria is bleeding and some are happy about it, but soon very soon it will either stop and pour once and for all.

In a country it's citizens now treak to meetup activities and endeavors!

Senator Godswill Akpabio is most definitely going to be the WORST ever Senate President in Nigeria’s history.

His Achievement so far;
– Making fun of Nigerian's hardship with the “Allow the poor breathe” joke.
– Rubber stamping Tinubu’s controversial ministerial list without… pic.twitter.com/uT09VBR1QZ

Godswill Akpabio is a disgrace. He didn’t realise he was on Live TV when he said that a token has been sent to the senators accounts for their holidays. Situation of the country doesn’t concern them. They just want to steal money. God punish anybody supporting this government 📌

— Chlorpheniramine (@VictorIsrael_) August 9, 2023

Godswill Akpabio is an embarrassment of monumental proportions

This is the kind of structure of criminality Obi has been saying he will dismantle

These guys don’t care about people’s suffering, all they want is to loot

Again, no politician in Nigeria is as humane as Obi!

— Pearls (@MissPearls) August 9, 2023

Akpabio is inexperienced on that seat, this isn’t the first gaffe. My worry is, it is becoming clearer everyday that subsidy removal is a sacrifice forced on the poor. These guys are partying with public funds like they don’t even care. Renewed shege! https://t.co/wVg3DBc7rz
