Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija season 4 winner, Mercy Eke, has shared why she continues to be single.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Eke revealed that she has yet to meet the type of man she desires.
According to her, “What I want in a man, I have not seen.” She noted that she has many suitors and could choose to marry at any moment.
During the discussion, she also addressed her views on motherhood, stating that she is open to having children before marriage.
Eke explained that if she were to become pregnant unexpectedly, she would keep the baby, even though she is not deliberately trying to get pregnant.
“I won’t go the extra mile to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it just happens, I would leave it and I would have my baby,” she added.
She further explained that she believes pregnancy outside marriage would not affect her negatively because the stigma mostly affects women who are not financially secure.

“Even if I don’t get married, I would still have kids… What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them.”
Eke also spoke about her future family plans, saying she hopes to have three children—two girls and one boy, or three girls because she has a strong preference for female children.
She added that many successful single mothers still receive marriage offers.
“The women [single mothers] that are shattering glasses, men are begging them for marriage. I can get married tomorrow if I want to… So, even if I have a baby, I would still see a man.”
