Why I don’t own house or land in Abuja – Peter Obi

Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he does not own any house or land in Abuja and has no plans to acquire one, explaining that property ownership often comes with avoidable stress.

The former Anambra State governor made the statement while speaking at a public event, where he shared his views on wealth, lifestyle choices, and peace of mind.

According to Obi, owning many assets does not always lead to comfort or fulfilment. He noted that, in some cases, it creates more pressure and responsibility rather than ease.

He added that his decision reflects a conscious choice to live simply and focus on what he considers more important.

“I don’t have a house or land in Abuja. I’m not even planning to have one because I don’t need it. The more you have all these things, the more headache you have,” Obi said.
