A short video celebrating Nokia’s standout phones from the 2000s has taken social media by storm, sparking nostalgia and conversations about the brand’s legacy.
The 33-second clip, posted on March 10, highlights models like the swivel 7373, the gaming N-Gage, and the sturdy E71 with physical keys — devices that once helped Nokia control 40% of the global mobile market. The video, now approaching 2 million impressions on X, carried the caption: “Nokia was so futuristic…”
While Nokia once dominated the mobile scene, sticking with the Symbian system during the touchscreen shift led to its decline. Its partnership with Microsoft and the Lumia series couldn’t revive its fortune, and the mobile division was sold to HMD Global in 2016.

Social media users shared fond memories of Nokia’s creativity and design. @NewsandScore1 wrote, “Why do we need today’s technology when we had this at that time.”
Reflecting on the brand’s influence, @PlanetInflow commented, “Nokia was an absolute powerhouse back in the day. It was unfortunate they didn’t innovate further.”
Others noted the lessons in Nokia’s decline. @Rohini791758716 observed, “Nokia proved that great quality alone isn’t enough if you don’t evolve with technology.”
Critically analyzing the fall, @adedapo_rotimi added, “No matter how futuristic you’re, when times and seasons start changing, learn to evolve — especially when you know that those things appearing to be the new deal. Don’t be a stereotype unless you’ve built a system that will outlast the new system.”
The video has revived debates about how modern phones might recapture the playful innovation that once defined Nokia.
