The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has debunked report circulating on social media that the ongoing voters registration would end by end of this month.
Director of Voters Education of the commission, Headquarters , Osaze Oluwole made this known on Ray Power network’s Political Platform on Thursday.
“I don’t know where that came from, but I only saw it on social media, I have not seen it on any mainstream media, it’s a rumor and it is not true. We have used our social media platforms to debunk that and have also issue statement concerning it”
A statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee IVEC of the commission, Prince Solomon Soyebi noted that, “so far, over four million Nigerians have registered across the country. The Commission wishes to assure all eligible Nigerians that the CVR exercise is designed to continue indefinitely as envisaged by the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).

“The Commission hereby encourages all eligible Nigerians to register at our offices in all local government headquarters and other officially designated areas across the country between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Full information about the designated areas can be obtained from our state offices.”
Oluwole also revealed that “the voters registration is ongoing and would continue till some time in the last quarter of this year because the law says registration must end 60 days to the elections and compile the register and hand over to political parties, stakeholders and every other person who is interested in having the register”
