Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has regained his freedom after spending several days in prison, marking a major development in a case that has drawn widespread public attention.

Portable regains freedom prison following a bail decision granted on Monday, January 19, 2026, bringing an end to his temporary incarceration after legal proceedings in Ogun State.

Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, over a nine-count charge filed by the Ogun State Police Command. The charges bordered on assault, theft, and obstruction of law enforcement officers in the course of their official duties.

According to the charge sheet, the singer was accused of assaulting several individuals, including his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple. He was also alleged to have stolen a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at ₦12 million, said to belong to one Ileyemi Damilola.

The police further alleged that Portable resisted arrest and obstructed a female police officer, Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi, while she was carrying out her lawful duties.

During his first court appearance, the presiding judge denied him bail due to the absence of the allegedly assaulted police officer and ordered that he be remanded in custody. A fresh bail hearing was subsequently fixed for Monday, January 19, 2026.

As of January 19, Portable was granted bail, leading to his release from custody. In a video that has since surfaced online, the singer and members of his entourage were seen celebrating his release, confirming that Portable regains freedom prison after days behind bars.

Following his release, Portable announced a new name for himself, “Innocenti,” a move that has since sparked reactions across social media.
