The ongoing feud between Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti and music star Wizkid took a new turn on Wednesday after Seun released a heated video attacking the Grammy winner.
In the video, which has since gone viral on social media, Seun Kuti challenged Wizkid to replace his tattoo of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti with that of his own father.
Seun, who appeared visibly angry, accused Wizkid of hypocrisy and disrespect towards Fela, despite publicly associating with the Afrobeat icon’s image.
“Except he removes that tattoo, he will never use his hands to achieve anything great,” Seun said in the video, speaking partly in Yoruba.
He went on to describe Wizkid as “the highest clout chaser in Africa,” claiming the singer benefits from Fela’s legacy while privately harbouring resentment against it.

According to Seun, Wizkid’s use of Fela’s image, including having his tattoo and visiting the New Afrika Shrine, was not genuine admiration but a calculated move.
“There is a difference between being inspired by Fela and wanting to replace Fela,” he said. “Your real ambition is to replace Fela. That’s why I did this so you can be exposed.”
Seun further alleged that Wizkid was jealous of Fela’s enduring influence, arguing that the late musician’s legacy continues to overshadow modern artists.
“Fela still get mouth pass you dey vex you,” he said.
The video was posted shortly after Wizkid publicly criticised Seun, accusing him of constantly attacking him and claiming he was more successful than Fela.
As of the time of filing this report, Wizkid has not responded to Seun Kuti’s latest comments.
