Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has been hit with a four-month suspension on Twitch, days after his widely publicised livestream with Afrobeats star Davido.
The entertainer confirmed the development on Monday, saying Twitch informed him that his account was suspended for breaching its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. However, the streaming platform did not disclose the specific rule violations.
The suspension followed a historic moment for Carter Efe on December 17, 2025, when his livestream with Davido drew massive engagement and made him Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, with over 405,000 followers.

Reacting to the ban, supporters took to his social media pages to express disappointment and solidarity. Many described him as a “joy giver” and appealed to Twitch to reconsider the decision.
Online speculation has suggested the action may be connected to mass reporting linked to comments or behaviour during the livestream, but claims that Carter Efe was banned on other platforms have been described as untrue.
The ban has dampened excitement among fans, particularly as it coincides with the festive season, with many hoping for an early review of the suspension.
