Tragedy struck on New Year Day in Agbor, Delta State, following the death of a Catholic priest who reportedly collapsed while delivering a homily.
Reports from the area said the priest, Rev. Steve Chukwuma of St. Joseph Catholic Church, slumped from the pulpit, according to Nigerian Tribune.
Eyewitnesses said the 63-year-old cleric was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

Parishioners described the late priest as cheerful, caring, and deeply passionate about people and their wellbeing.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, could not confirm the incident when contacted on Friday, saying ” they may not have reported the matter to the police.”
