Tinted glass permit: High court stops police from taking new action

The Federal High Court in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing legal battle over the controversial tinted glass permit.

 

The matter, filed as Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, came up for hearing on Friday.

 

In an interim ruling, the court directed the police to respect judicial processes until further proceedings are concluded.

Kunle Edun, SAN, who led the legal team, described the ruling as an important step towards safeguarding the rule of law while the substantive issues are considered.
