More than 50 people were injured after a fire broke out at a car parts factory in Daejeon on Friday.
The blaze started around 1:17 p.m. at a facility in the Daedeok district and spread quickly, forcing a large emergency response.
According to the National Fire Agency, at least 55 people were hurt, including 24 with serious injuries. Many suffered smoke inhalation, while others were injured trying to escape.
Fire chief Nam Deuk-woo said at least 14 people were still missing. Police were tracking mobile phone signals to help find them.
“The fire is spreading rapidly due to the prefabricated structure, and the risk of collapse is making it difficult to enter the building,” a fire official said.

Authorities believe the fire may have been caused by an explosion, but the exact cause is not yet known.
Officials also warned of further danger, as about 200 kilograms of reactive chemicals were stored at the site.
More than 500 emergency workers were deployed, along with over 100 vehicles and specialised equipment.
The National Fire Agency issued a nationwide mobilisation order as the fire overwhelmed local resources.
President Lee Jae Myung ordered full deployment of personnel and equipment to contain the blaze.
The factory is run by Anjun Industrial, a supplier to Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation.
Authorities said an investigation will begin once the fire is under control.
