The Imo State Police Command have arrested its officers for allegedly extorting N120,000 from an undercover official of Behind Bars Initiative.
Police inspector Tom Edet, who is attached to the Ihiagwa Division in Nekede, Imo, and two of his colleagues, sergeants Bassey and Charity, had arrested a young man who travelled from Delta to the state. They refused to release him for days, over his inability to pay N400,000 bribe.
His family then contacted Behind Bars Initiative and the IGP Xsquad was also notified. The officers were baited with marked N120,000 bribe.
