A student was allegedly dumped in front of his dorm by police in Kwara state after he passed out while in their care.
The guy, an international student, said he was with two pals when some police officers approached them and told them to get into their car. He was speaking from his hospital bed.
According to him, the officers urged him and his friend to get inside their car after identifying one of the kids and asking him to leave. He claimed that when the authorities requested for their phones, they turned them over. The officers allegedly turned to his companion and questioned him about why he wasn’t into “Yahoo Yahoo” after scanning their phones but not turning up anything suspicious, according to the man.
The victim claimed that after telling his friend not to respond to the question, the officers became enraged and allegedly began hitting the man. He claimed that after bringing them to the station and taking their phones, the officers tossed them into a cell. The young man claimed that after being asleep inside the cell, the cops removed him, transported him to his hostel, and dropped him there.
The caretaker of the hostel confirmed the incident and said the officers did not move as they saw him rushing the victim to the hospital.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi while reacting to the allegations, said;
”This allegation would be thoroughly investigated, it is very unprofessional if it truly happened the way the story was painted. I can assure you guys the needful would be done. Dm me the name and address of the hostel and hospital please.”
