The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two suspected illicit drug dealers during a targeted raid on a known drug distribution hub in Ado-Ekiti.
The operation was carried out by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the New Iyin Division and his team, following credible intelligence.
It was part of a broader directive by the Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade, to intensify crackdowns on criminal hideouts across the state.
During the raid at Alade Garage Area in Basiri, Ado-Ekiti, the operatives apprehended two suspects identified as Promise Fásọlá and Ileri-Oluwa Alao, while others fled the scene.
Items recovered from the suspects include quantities of illicit substances such as Colorado, Indian hemp and Loud.

The police also seized a Point of Sale (POS) machine, an Android phone and a power bank, believed to have been used in their operations.
Confirming the development in a statement on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, said the suspects had confessed to engaging in the sale of illicit drugs.
He added that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the command to curb drug-related offences and other criminal activities in the state.
According to him, the suspects will undergo further investigation and be charged to court accordingly, while efforts are underway to track down other members of the syndicate who escaped during the operation.
The Commissioner of Police also urged residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information, stressing that public cooperation remains crucial in ensuring safety and security across Ekiti State.
