The Dangote refinery has commenced its free fuel distribution scheme, on Monday, with Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States among the first beneficiaries.
Streetnetngr recalls that the Group spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, said the initiative was designed to bring relief to millions of Nigerians by making fuel more affordable.
“We are starting the free fuel distribution scheme on Monday. We will begin with Lagos and the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States.
There will be a drop in price effective Monday when the free distribution starts,” Chiejina said.
According to him, petrol retail prices have been pegged at N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, while residents of Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta States will purchase at N851 per litre.
The price reduction, the Dangote Group noted, is expected to stimulate economic activities and ease the financial burden on Nigerians.
