Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, narrowly avoided a major disaster after a generator fire broke out at his Lagos mansion in the early hours of Saturday.

The TikTok star revealed that the incident occurred around 4:30am and began from the generator area of the property. He said the fire burned for about 30 minutes before it was discovered.

A video shared online showed flames coming from the generator section of the compound. The main building was not affected, and no injuries were reported.

The incident has since drawn reactions on social media, with some users questioning the placement and condition of the generator.

“This one weak me, the space wey dem put the gen too tight, no ventilation at all. Proper placement and regular servicing matter pass anything…” one user, @FearlessKing556, wrote.

Another commenter, @D3mon_Sound, suggested possible overuse. “Maybe they’ve overused the Gen. The gen has spent more than its running hours, I guess. He should combine the Generator with solar if he has to stay too long on electricity,” the user said.

Others simply expressed relief that the situation did not escalate, with @Oluomopataki writing, “Ah thank God for him.”
