Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke

Peace, not money, builds happy home’, Davido’s father, Adeleke says at son’s traditional wedding

Billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian music superstar Davido, has melted hearts online after delivering a touching speech during his son’s traditional wedding ceremony.

Recall that Davido’s brother, Nicholas Adeleke, tied the knot with his beautiful bride, Jessica Williams, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Monarch Event Centre, Lekki, in a glamorous celebration attended by family, friends, and dignitaries.

During his heartfelt address, Dr. Adeleke shared profound words of wisdom, reminding the newlyweds that money and fame do not guarantee happiness.

“It’s just God’s blessing. Once you have that in your family, you know you have a happy family,” he said. “Happiness is not about money. The most important thing is peace, happiness, and friendship in your home.”

He advised Nicholas and Jessica to pray for each other daily and keep God at the centre of their marriage, stressing that spiritual connection and mutual support are the true pillars of lasting love.

“The most important thing is that both of you must pray for each other every morning and every night,” he added, assuring them of his continuous prayers.

Dr. Adeleke’s emotional words earned him warm applause from guests at the event but his message has since sparked mixed reactions online.

While many praised his humility and wisdom, others took a playful jab at his statement, saying that only the rich often claim that “money doesn’t buy happiness.”
