According to the schedule, the exercise will begin on April 22, 2026, with the arrival and registration of prospective corps members at designated orientation camps across the country. Registration will continue until midnight on April 24, 2026.
The swearing-in ceremony, which marks the start of national service, is scheduled for April 24. The programme will run for 21 days and end on May 12, 2026.

The NYSC said the orientation course is designed to prepare participants for service through paramilitary drills, lectures, and skills acquisition programmes focused on personal development and national integration.
While wishing incoming corps members safe travels, the scheme stressed the need for security awareness. It advised participants to avoid night travel and urged them to seek safe accommodation at recognised locations such as NYSC lodges, military formations, police stations, or traditional institutions when necessary.
The announcement offers guidance to graduates preparing for the next stage of the national service programme.
