The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a man described as a notorious bandit during a surprise raid in Bojinji Village, Bauchi. Officials recovered millions of naira in cash and several rounds of ammunition from the suspect.

The suspect had relocated from Zamfara, claiming he was fleeing persecution, and settled in the village with his family. Despite living an extravagant lifestyle, he had not drawn suspicion until the DSS operation.

A security source said, “The DSS traced the suspect’s illicit wealth and movements before executing the operation.”

Authorities are urging residents to report individuals whose lifestyle appears unusually lavish, emphasizing that community vigilance is essential to uncover hidden criminal networks. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspect’s activities and possible accomplices in the state.
