On a year-on-year basis, the bureau said the headline inflation rate was 11.21 percentage points lower than the 26.27 per cent recorded in February 2025.

This indicates that inflation in February 2026 was lower than the rate recorded in the same month of the previous year.

The report added that on a month-on-month basis, the headline inflation rate in February 2026 stood at 2.01 per cent, which was higher than the -2.88 per cent recorded in January 2026.

It explained that the increase means the average price level rose faster in February 2026 than it did in January.
