Nigerians can ‘fly now, pay later’ for domestic flight — FG

The Federal Government has introduced a new consumer credit product, “Fly Now, Pay Later,” to make domestic air travel more accessible to Nigerians.

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation announced this on its X handle on Tuesday, saying the initiative allows eligible customers to book local flights and pay for them over time through structured financing.

The corporation said the scheme is meant to address the upfront cost that often prevents many Nigerians from making important trips.

“Through this initiative, eligible customers can book domestic flights today and repay the cost over time through structured financing, removing the upfront barrier that often delays important trips,” the statement read.

CREDICORP said the programme is being implemented in partnership with MyVisaro and Alert Microfinance Bank as part of efforts to expand access to consumer credit.

The agency asked interested Nigerians to visit visaro.ng to apply and book flights to destinations across the country.

“At CREDICORP, we remain committed to expanding responsible consumer credit and enabling Nigerians live better now, including flying locally. Fly now. Pay later. Opportunity shouldn’t wait,” it added.

According to the corporation, the initiative supports its goal of promoting financial inclusion and improving access to services through credit solutions.

The development comes as the cost of domestic flights continues to rise, making it difficult for many Nigerians to afford air travel.

During the 2025 festive period, one-way fares on some routes increased by about 150 per cent, rising above N300,000.

Airlines have linked the increase to higher aviation fuel costs, foreign exchange challenges, and other operational expenses.
