Nigerian woman sparks outrage over holy spirit-inspired s3x toy brand

A Nigerian entrepreneur has come under heavy criticism after saying the Holy Spirit inspired her to create a s3x toy brand specifically for married Christian women.

In a video shared online around February 19, the woman said the products are designed for “faithful wives” who want to satisfy their s3xual needs without being unfaithful to their husbands. Dressed in an orange top and headwrap, she explained that her brand targets women who wish to remain committed to their marriages while addressing intimacy concerns.

The video quickly circulated across social media, triggering mixed reactions.

Popular X user @DAMIADENUGA reacted in disbelief, writing:

“A s3x toy brand inspired by the Holy Spirit for married women only for Christians 😳😳😳

As howwww! What’s really happening”

Another user, @AEAdeola, dismissed the claim, stating:

“Inspired by the devil”

User @66Decrypt also criticised the concept, saying:

“If you think it’s just modern Christianity then you’re, the majority of the things we have come to believe today, we’re on grounds that God was added to it, it’s a trick as old as time.”

However, not all reactions were condemnatory. Some users argued that the issue of marital intimacy is often ignored in Christian homes.

@KenMcWealthX questioned the backlash, asking:

“If a Christian woman is married to a man who only has sex with her a few times a year, is she not permitted to own a sex toy to meet her sexual needs?”

Similarly, @boti_james wrote:

“Objectively, some men suffer chronic injury after marriage which kills their ability to perform, should the woman suffer without? However, some men travel away from home to feed their homes, what should the women do? I think I believe her. The Holy spirit actually would have led.”

Another user, @constantngozi, defended the woman’s spiritual claim, stating:

“Your calling it blasphemy can equally leave the ‘Holy Spirit-inspired sex toy brand maker’ speechless. She said the Holy Spirit inspired her, and you’re calling that blasphemy. How? Does what God cannot do now exist?”

The controversy has once again highlighted the tension between strong religious beliefs and discussions around s3x and marriage in Nigeria, where faith and cultural norms often shape public opinion.
