The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Oyo State Command, has arrested a male visitor for allegedly attempting Agodi custodial centre drug smuggling.

The suspect was apprehended during routine security screening of visitors and their belongings at the entrance of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Agodi, Ibadan.

According to him, preliminary investigations revealed inconsistencies in the suspect’s explanation for the visit, which raised suspicion of an attempt at Agodi custodial centre drug smuggling.

He added that the suspect has been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and possible prosecution, as authorities intensify efforts to curb Agodi custodial centre drug smuggling and other criminal activities within correctional facilities.
