American actor and wrestler John Cena has revealed that his biggest fear is the possibility that he may never be ready to be a “great parent.”
The 47-year-old, who has been married twice without having children, expressed his concerns about not being prepared to invest the time required for effective parenting.
In a recent interview on Club Shay Shay, Cena shared, “My biggest fear is I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it takes to be a great parent.
“Because I still have a lot to do, and I still want to do a lot. I have a wonderful partner, we’ve had open conversations about this. We share the same values.”
Cena acknowledged the sensitive nature of the topic, adding, “It’s a tough subject to talk about because it immediately puts you in a category.
“People tend to judge. Human nature, we are all judgemental. But I operate under the construct that everyone is okay living their lives. I’m very happy with where I stand. I have a lot of joy and fulfilment in my life.”
Cena first married Elizabeth Huberdeau on July 11, 2009, but the couple divorced on July 18, 2012.
He later married Shay Shariatzadeh, whom he had been dating since early 2019, in a private ceremony in Tampa, Florida, on October 12, 2020.
Neither marriage resulted in children.
