Money na water: Ganduje’s son gifts N4bn in properties to staff

Umar Abdullahi, son of former Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, made headlines on Sunday after he gifts N4bn in properties to his staff as a reward for dedication and loyalty.

The announcement came during the end-of-year retreat of his company, Cosgrove Investment Limited, held in Abuja.

Speaking to journalists, Abdullahi explained that the initiative aims to reward excellence, ensure long-term security for employees, and foster a sense of shared ownership within the organisation. “Before we close this retreat, I want to recognise our senior staff who have contributed meaningfully to the growth of this company.

Today, I gifts N4bn in properties to them,” he said.
He added that the gesture reflects a broader commitment to employee empowerment and sustainable prosperity, while also setting a benchmark for corporate leadership in Nigeria.

“The essence is to demonstrate how organisations can tangibly invest in the people driving their success,” Abdullahi said.

The retreat also focused on improving operational efficiency, staff performance, and project delivery. Participants reviewed ongoing projects, identified gaps, and agreed on priorities to strengthen collaboration and accountability.

The company, which operates in Lagos, Kano, Jigawa, and Ondo, unveiled its roadmap for 2026, aiming to expand residential and road infrastructure projects nationwide.

The generous gift comes shortly after other empowerment initiatives in Kano State, showing a growing focus on rewarding staff dedication and boosting economic opportunities at the grassroots level.

By this move, Abdullahi once again demonstrates that in his organisation, gifts N4bn in properties is more than a reward, it is a statement of commitment to employees.
