Money taken from an Osun State church’s donation box has led to the arrest of a guy.
The suspect, Opeyemi Olufemi, was stopped by police officers performing stop and search operations along Igbara Odo/Akure Road as he was riding a motorcycle and carrying a school bag.
When his bag was inspected, multiple Naira notes in denominations totaling NGN 620,115 were discovered inside.
Also discovered in the backpack were papers containing prayer requests.
He could not explain the source of the money nor give an accurate account of the total amount of money in the bag.
He later confessed to have stolen the money from a church offering vault at CAC church Ikeji, Arakeji in Osun State.
