Liverpool have omitted England defender, Nathaniel Clyne, in their Champions League squad and injury prone forward, Danny Ings.
The right-back is recovering from a back problem, with his omission from the squad suggesting he will be out of action until Christmas.
Teams can adapt their squad following the group stage, but Clyne will not take part in the first phase of matches.
Also omitted is Danny Ings, whose prospects of breaking into the first team following his long injury layoff would appear to be slim, Liverpool Echo reported.
Liverpool have named a 22-man ‘list A’ with 10 further youngsters, born on or after January 1 1996, on ‘list B’. A separate squad is then announced prior to each group game.
Clubs are permitted to name a 25-man ‘list A’, but it must contain at least eight locally trained players. If clubs have fewer than eight, the size of the squad is altered accordingly.
