Libyan prosecutors say they have identified three suspects linked to the killing of Gaddafi’s son, Seif al-Islam, who was shot dead at his residence in the northwestern city of Zintan last month.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the prosecutor’s office said its investigation had established the suspects’ meeting point, the time they travelled to the scene and their alleged involvement in the crime.
According to the statement posted on Facebook, authorities have also ordered the arrest of the three individuals in connection with the killing of Gaddafi’s son.
Seif al-Islam, the son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, was once widely seen as a potential successor to his father before the 2011 uprising that ended the Gaddafi regime.

Although he held no official government position at the time, Seif al-Islam was often described as Libya’s de facto prime minister and was known for projecting an image of moderation and reform prior to the Arab Spring protests.
His reputation, however, suffered during the uprising when he warned that the revolt would lead to “rivers of blood”.
Following the unrest, the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest over alleged crimes against humanity. He was later captured by Libyan authorities in 2011.
A court in Tripoli subsequently sentenced him to death, but he was later granted amnesty.
A French lawyer who previously represented him, Marcel Ceccaldi, told AFP that a four-man commando stormed the residence before carrying out the killing of Gaddafi’s son.
