A 41-year-old man named Abdulfatai Olagunju has been charged by the police with stealing his neighbor’s goat before an Isolo magistrates’ court in Lagos.
Olagunju was accused of providing the goat a chemical that kept it from screaming out before committing the theft in the dark.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector M. Solomon, the accused was apprehended after raising the alarm when the goat’s owner, Murphy Chinedu, observed that his goat was stolen.
Despite Olagunju’s denials, his home was where the larceny was found, despite his denials. The Kedeibu Estate incident in Lagos’ Ijegun neighborhood was reported to Iseri-Oshun Police Station, which resulted in the suspect’s capture.
When questioned, Olagunju stated that he had purchased the goat that had been discovered in his compound from the market to celebrate Sallah with.
He was granted bail in the amount of N100,000 with one surety in the same amount by Magistrate Mrs. O. I. Williams, and the case was continued to August 24.
