A Lagos guard faces kidnap trial after police arrested him for allegedly abducting his employer’s two-year-old son in the Elemoro area of the state.
Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said in a statement on Monday that the guard, identified as Amos Kini, fled with the child and the mother’s mobile phone on September 21, 2025, before contacting the boy’s father to demand a ₦5 million ransom.
According to the statement, operatives launched a swift response, questioning the suspect’s guarantor and applying pressure that forced him to release the child. The Lagos guard was later tracked down to a hideout in Elemoro on September 23 and confessed to the crime.
