A video circulating online shows a Nigerian woman who was allegedly caught stealing from a compound and beaten by residents.
In the footage, the woman is seen being held tightly by residents after the alleged incident, with visible signs of assault. A popular Nigerian Pidgin phrase, “Your cup don full,” is repeatedly heard, suggesting she may not be a first-time offender.
Residents are also heard questioning her. “Wetin you dy find here” was repeatedly asked as they confronted her for entering the compound without permission.
A voice-over in the video claims the woman has been involved in similar incidents in the area. She was described as someone who had been “stealing from the street”.
The narrator further alleged that she had stolen from different victims in the past, including an elderly woman. “She went to an old woman, packed her wrapper, foodstuff, everything.” She was also accused of stealing from a pregnant woman.
In the latest incident, the voice-over said she was caught while trying to steal electronics. “Today she came again to steal someone’s laptop and phone. That was when they caught her.”

More clips in the video show her being beaten by residents after the arrest.
