Seven people are feared kidnapped after suspected bandits attacked Adanla, a suburb of Igbaja in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, on Friday evening.
The attack happened around 7:00 pm, throwing the usually quiet community into panic.
Elder Olaitan Oyin-Zubair, a local leader and Coordinator of the Kwara South Joint Community Security Watch Network, confirmed the incident on Saturday.
“The bandits entered Adanla in large numbers, shooting from house to house. Residents had to flee,” Oyin-Zubair said.

He said hunters and local vigilantes were immediately mobilised, and the Brigade Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade was alerted. Soldiers later arrived in two trucks to support security efforts.
“Before the soldiers got there, the bandits had already kidnapped seven people and injured a woman. They were shooting to terrorise the community,” he added.
Many residents reportedly escaped into nearby bushes or neighbouring communities for safety.
SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, said she was yet to receive full details. “I will provide an update as soon as I have more information,” she said.
