Moon sighted for Ramadan

JUST IN: Saudi declares Wednesday as first of Ramadan

After a moon-sighting exercise, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced that Wednesday, February 18, 2026, will mark the start of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH.

The decision came after reports from official moon sighting committees across the Kingdom confirmed that the new moon had been seen.

With the confirmation on Tuesday, Muslims in Saudi Arabia will begin fasting at dawn on Wednesday, observing the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar with prayers, reflection, and acts of charity.
