Chelsea have dismissed head coach Liam Rosenior after a disastrous run of results that left the club winless and goalless in recent weeks.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“BREAKING: Chelsea have decided to SACK Liam Rosenior with immediate effect.
It’s OVER after 4 months, and 5 consecutive defeats with 0 goals scored.”
Rosenior’s tenure, which began in January, ended abruptly just months into a six-and-a-half-year contract that was expected to run until 2032. He had been brought in to replace Enzo Maresca as part of a long-term project.

The 41-year-old arrived from Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, another club under the BlueCo ownership structure, but results quickly turned against him.
Chelsea’s latest setback was a 3-0 defeat away to Brighton on Tuesday night, a result that summed up a difficult spell marked by repeated losses and a lack of goals.
Across his brief spell in charge, Chelsea failed to score in five straight matches and endured a four-month stretch without finding the net.
There has been no official statement from the club confirming a successor, leaving uncertainty ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash with Leeds United on Sunday.
