A planned wedding in Imo State has reportedly been called off after the groom discovered an old social media post by his fiancée that raised concerns about her past lifestyle.
Sources familiar with the situation said the groom found the photo while reviewing his fiancée’s previous Facebook posts a few days before the scheduled ceremony. The image allegedly showed her smoking cannabis, popularly known as “Canadian Loud,” which led to tension between the couple and their families.

The bride-to-be reportedly explained that the photo was taken years earlier and said she had changed since then. She appealed to her fiancé to judge her based on who she is now, stressing that the post did not reflect her current values or lifestyle.
Despite her explanation, the groom was said to be unwilling to proceed with the marriage. Attempts by family members from both sides to resolve the issue and save the wedding were unsuccessful, resulting in the cancellation of the ceremony.
