Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has dismissed circulating rumours about his death, assuring fans and family that he is alive and well.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Agu urged the public to ignore the false reports, describing them as the handiwork of mischief-makers.
His caption read: “Fans and family, please disregard any rumours about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace.”
Introducing himself in the video as “Chief Chiwetalu Agu, okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State,” the veteran actor declared that he still has many years ahead of him.

“I’m not going anywhere yet. Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside.
“Na who dig grave go fall inside. I am yet to carry my grandchildren, and I must carry them in good health when my children are ready,” he said.
Agu added that if one of the “big bloggers” had carried the false news, he would have sued for defamation and damages, but he chose not to drag the blogger involved, whom he described as “still struggling with likes.”
Condemning those who spread such misinformation, Agu said it was worrisome that many people in 2025 were still quick to believe unverified claims.
“What baffles me is that in this 21st century, people are still gullible enough to believe such things without confirming whether they are true or not.
“Fans and families, disregard any rumours or rebuke anyone spreading such diabolical news about me,” he added.
The clarification comes after an online blogger falsely reported that Agu had passed away, sparking confusion among admirers of the Nollywood legend.
