‘If US soldiers invade Nigeria, they won’t return home’, Portable warns

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reacted to the threat by United States President, Donald Trump, to invade Nigeria if the alleged killings of Christians in the country continue.

Speaking during a TikTok live session with a Nigerian-born US soldier, the Zazuu Zeh crooner cautioned against underestimating Nigeria’s resilience, warning that any foreign troops who attempt to invade the country would “not return home.”

“If US soldiers invade Nigeria, they won’t go back home. You see all those Boko Haram people you’re hearing about? They are people’s fathers, brothers, and husbands. Most of them joined because of hunger,” Portable said.

He further claimed that insurgent groups in Nigeria are backed by influential figures within and outside the country, adding that the fight against terrorism is far more complex than many people assume.

Portable’s comments have since gone viral, sparking widespread reactions online. While some users mocked his statement, others found his boldness entertaining.

One user, Ladi, wrote, “I just believe say wetin people dey talk say Portable never finish him drug for Yabaleft na true.”

Another said, “He got me rolling when he said ‘let’s talk like educated person.’”

A social media user identified as Big Terry added, “The victims no be people’s fathers, husbands and children abi?”

The viral moment comes amid heightened global attention on Nigeria following Trump’s strong warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. The former US leader had threatened that America was ready to go “guns blazing” to stop what he described as the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
